Senior Associate - Financial analyst (Project finance)

JOB PURPOSE

To structure, analyze, and execute financing solutions for infrastructure and renewable energy projects by evaluating investment opportunities, securing optimal funding, and ensuring compliance with financial, legal, and contractual requirements.

The role supports decision-making, maximizes shareholder value, and manages project risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Modeling & Analysis

- Develop and maintain detailed project finance models (PIRR, EIRR, NPV, DSCR, DSRA sensitivity/scenario analysis).

- Conduct valuation and profitability assessments of investment opportunities.

- Run sensitivity analyses to assess impact of key variables (tariff, capex, opex, financing terms, interest rate).

2. Transaction Support

- Assist in structuring debt and equity financing solutions.

- Support in preparing financing documents, credit applications, and presentations for lenders/investors.

- Liaise with banks, financial advisors, legal, and technical consultants throughout the financing process.

3. Due Diligence & Market Research

- Conduct industry and market research to support project assumptions.

- Review and analyze technical, legal, and regulatory due diligence reports.

- Assess financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

4. Internal & External Stakeholder Coordination

- Prepare internal investment papers and management presentations.

- Support senior management in negotiations with lenders, investors, and partners.

-Monitor existing project finance portfolio and track performance against financial covenants.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

Knowledge:

- Finance / Accounting /Economics and other related fields

Skills Technical Skills:

- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.

- Familiarity with project finance structures (limited recourse financing, SPV structures, covenants).

- Understanding of financial ratios (PIRR, EIRR, DSCR, DSRA).

Soft Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

- Detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

- Team player with proactive mindset.

Experience:

- 13 years in project finance, investment banking, corporate finance, or related field (renewable energy/infrastructure experience preferred).
