Moebius Development Inc. is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our team. You'll work on a variety of projects for our international clients, contributing to both new and existing products. We are looking for someone who is a quick learner, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can work both independently and collaboratively. You will be responsible for developing user-facing features and stunning visual elements using the latest web technologies.
Salary range: Starts from THB 75,000
Requirements:
- Proven track record of designing, building, and evolving scalable, high-performance web applications, with strong ownership of system architecture, code quality, and long-term maintainability.
- Expert-level proficiency in PHP and Laravel, with deep understanding of its ecosystem, and experience leveraging modern stacks such as Inertia.js and Laravel Livewire when appropriate.
- Strong experience designing and optimizing relational databases, including schema design, indexing strategies, query optimization, and handling large-scale data efficiently.
- Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows (branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews), with hands-on experience maintaining reliable CI/CD pipelines and contributing to high-quality team delivery standards.
- Deep understanding of application security best practices, including prevention of common vulnerabilities, secure authentication/authorization patterns, and data protection.
- Strong experience with automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using tools such as PHPUnit or Pest, with a focus on building reliable and maintainable test suites.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the stack, including database queries, caching strategies, and efficient resource utilization in high-traffic environments.
- Experience designing and working with asynchronous systems, including queues, background job processing, and event-driven architectures, with an understanding of scalability and eventual consistency.
- Solid experience designing and maintaining robust APIs (REST and/or GraphQL), including versioning, rate limiting, and integration with third-party services.
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments (e.g. AWS, GCP), containerization, and modern deployment practices, with awareness of observability (logging, monitoring, alerting).
- Strong understanding of internationalization (i18n), accessibility, and building applications for a global user base.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor other engineers, conduct meaningful code reviews, and contribute to improving team practices, architecture decisions, and engineering standards.
- Strong product and business awareness, with the ability to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions and make pragmatic trade-offs.
- Self-driven and continuously improving, with a proactive approach to learning, evaluating new technologies, and raising the technical bar of the team.
Candidates must have experience in:
- Building large-scale web applications using PHP with Laravel for the backend.
- Holding a senior or lead software development role, providing technical direction and mentoring team members.
- Working in agile teams, applying principles and practices from the Scrum framework and lean development.
Responsibilities:
- Translate end-user requirements into detailed specifications and solution designs for diverse application development.
- Conduct thorough quality assurance and peer code reviews to ensure high standards in product features.
- Provide reports and documentation on the project stage and progress.
