Job Description

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to support our client's migration from MicroStrategy to Amazon Quick.

Amazon Quick includes the Quick Sight Business Intelligence capabilities formerly branded as Amazon QuickSight. Candidates with QuickSight experience are therefore encouraged to apply.

Our client provides technology and services that support subscriptions, memberships, donations, payments, recurring revenue, order fulfillment, and customer engagement.

Work arrangement: Onsite (Bangkok office) I Full-time

Key Responsibilities

Inventory and analysis

  • Inventory MicroStrategy reports, dossiers, metrics, prompts, filters, security rules, and dependencies.
  • Inventory Amazon Quick data sources, datasets, analyses, dashboards, calculations, parameters, and permissions.
  • Review inherited documentation; record completed, partially completed, blocked, and outstanding work.
  • Lead source-to-target mappings and document business rules, calculations, and acceptance criteria.

  • Amazon Quick development

    • Create and modify Quick analyses and dashboards.
    • Develop visuals, filters, parameters, controls, and calculated fields.
    • Oversee data-source and dataset configuration, and SPICE ingestion and refresh processes.
    • Build or review SQL queries and database views.
    • Implement and validate documented row-level and column-level security.
    • Configure dashboard folders and permissions, and enforce naming, design, accessibility, and documentation standards.
    • Review and correct defects; respond to peer-review feedback.

  • Testing and reconciliation

    • Oversee comparison of Quick output with MicroStrategy reports and reconciliation against authoritative source data.
    • Validate calculations, filters, parameters, dates, aggregation behavior, dataset refreshes, and SPICE ingestion.
    • Guide regression and user-acceptance testing; ensure discrepancies are recorded, retested, and resolved.

    Documentation and collaboration

    • Maintain asset inventories and mapping documents; prepare technical notes, test cases, and user guidance.
    • Lead remote meetings, demonstrations, and reviews with client stakeholders.
    • Escalate blockers and data discrepancies promptly; support releases, production validation, and knowledge transfer.
    • Guide and review the work of mid-level/junior developers on the team.

  • Required Qualifications

    • Degree, diploma, certification, or equivalent practical experience in a relevant discipline, with substantial hands-on BI development experience.
    • Strong working knowledge of SQL, including tables, joins, filtering, aggregation, and null values.
    • Solid understanding of dashboards, KPIs, charts, and business metrics.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with careful attention to detail.
    • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to work effectively with a remote team and client stakeholders.
    • Commitment to data security and confidentiality.
    • Prior experience with Amazon Quick, Quick Sight, QuickSight, or MicroStrategy strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Amazon RDS, SPICE datasets, AWS Identity and Access Management, Snowflake, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, data warehousing and dimensional modeling, ETL or ELT development, Python or PowerShell, Git, Terraform or CloudFormation, Jira or Azure DevOps, automated data reconciliation, embedded analytics, Agile delivery.

Performance will be evaluated through accuracy and completeness, quality of reconciliation and testing, compliance with AWS/security/development standards, documentation quality, responsiveness to feedback, reliability and communication, and successful business acceptance of delivered work — not solely by dashboard count or lines of code.

We are looking for someone curious, dependable, and methodical, who enjoys investigating data and understands why two reporting systems produce different answers — and who recognizes that BI migration involves more than recreating charts.

Interested candidates, please send your resume to [Confidential Information] or click Apply on LinkedIn.
