About the Role:
The Senior Capacity Planner is responsible for planning and optimizing production capacity to ensure customer demand is met while maximizing operational efficiency. This role works closely with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Customer Service to balance demand, capacity, inventory, and available resources.
Responsibilities:
- Own and control the Master Production Schedule (MPS) across assigned plants or product families.
- Translate IBP decisions into executable production schedules, balancing service level, cost, and capacity.
- Lead capacity constraint management, including bottleneck analysis and trade-off decisions.
- Make final decisions on production priorities, schedule changes, and recovery plans during disruptions.
- Drive RCCP and finite capacity planning for critical resources.
- Partner with Operations Leadership to align production strategy with business objectives.
- Proactively identify supply and capacity risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Lead what-if and scenario planning for volume changes, new product introductions, and ramp-ups.
- Define and track MPS performance KPIs (schedule adherence, capacity utilization, inventory turns).
- Act as key contributor in SNOE / IBP executive reviews, presenting options and recommendations.
- Drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy, responsiveness, and system capability.
- Serve as the primary interface between Planning, Manufacturing, and ERP/SAP systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in capacity planning, resource management, or a related role.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, and advanced data visualization tools.
- Experience with capacity planning models and forecasting techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to capacity planning.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with industry trends and best practices in capacity planning and resource management.
- Proven ability to identify and address potential issues proactively.
- Experience conducting what-if scenario analyses.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation of processes and methodologies.
- Training and support capabilities for team members on capacity planning tools and techniques.
- Adaptability and willingness to address ad-hoc requests and projects as needed.
