Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineer / Data Analyst to design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions and analytics frameworks. In this role, you will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights, improve reporting ecosystems, and enable strategic decision-making through robust data pipelines and performance-optimized systems.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Solution Delivery
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable data solutions supporting both tactical and strategic business needs
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines using SQL, Python, and Azure data services
- Develop new data assets and enhance existing datasets, ensuring high performance, accuracy, and reliability
- Apply software engineering best practices to ETL/ELT development and data integration workflows
Analytics & Reporting Optimization
- Analyze existing reporting inventory to identify opportunities for consolidation, optimization, or decommissioning
- Design and implement dashboards, reports, KPIs, and key risk indicators (KRIs) aligned to business objectives
- Use data discovery techniques across complex datasets to generate actionable insights and recommendations
Stakeholder Engagement & Strategy
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into data solutions
- Provide consultative insights on process improvements, data strategy, and system enhancements
- Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Platform & Cloud Development
- Leverage Azure data services (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Databricks) to build enterprise-grade data solutions
- Support hybrid environments involving on-premises SQL Server and cloud-based systems
- Ensure solutions follow best practices for scalability, security, and maintainability
Performance & Optimization
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through query tuning and optimization techniques
- Monitor and improve data processing efficiency across pipelines and systems
Leadership & Governance
- Provide technical direction and mentoring to team members when required
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and delivery excellence
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or related roles
- Strong expertise in SQL with hands-on experience across databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or Teradata
- Proven experience designing and developing data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows
- Advanced proficiency in Excel for analysis and reporting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), particularly in building and deploying data solutions
- Exposure to data migration projects and DevOps / DataOps practices
- Demonstrated expertise in query optimization and performance tuning
- Understanding of system security, hardening, and vulnerability management
- Track record of delivering end-to-end technology-driven solutions in a complex enterprise environment
