The Senior Data Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and operating a reliable, scalable data platform that supports game analytics, live operations, and business decision-making.
This role ensures that game data is accurate, timely, and analytics-ready, serving as the technical backbone for all game analytics and insight generation.
The role works closely with the Head of Game Data Analysis, Game Data Expat (if applicable), and Analytics teams, translating analytics needs into robust data systems.

Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Architecture & Engineering
- Design and maintain end-to-end data pipelines from game clients to data warehouse.
- Own the structure and performance of game data models and schemas.
- Ensure the data platform can scale with a growing player base and game portfolio.
Game Event Tracking & Data Collection
- Implement and maintain event tracking systems aligned with analytics frameworks.
- Collaborate with analytics and game teams to translate gameplay mechanics into measurable events.
- Review and optimize tracking logic to balance insight depth and system efficiency.
Data Quality & Reliability
- Define and enforce data quality standards, validation rules, and monitoring processes.
- Detect, investigate, and resolve data issues such as missing, delayed, or inconsistent events.
- Ensure analytics teams can trust the data used for decision-making.
Analytics Enablement & Collaboration
- Work closely with Game Data Analysts to optimize data structures for analysis.
- Support BI dashboards, experimentation pipelines, and reporting workflows.
- Provide technical guidance on how data can best support analytical use cases.
Platform Optimization & Governance
- Improve system performance, cost efficiency, and operational stability.
- Contribute to data governance practices, documentation, and technical standards.
- Mentor junior data engineers and promote engineering best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform roles, preferably in gaming, mobile apps, or high-scale digital products.
- Proven experience building and operating production-grade data pipelines.
- Experience working closely with analytics and product teams.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, and cloud data stacks.
- Experience with event-based tracking systems and schema design.
- Familiarity with data monitoring, logging, and alerting practices.
- Ready to relocate to Thailand or Dubai.
