About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our growing data analytics practice in Thailand. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex analytical projects, mentor junior team members, and drive data-driven decision making across diverse industry sectors. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with business acumen to deliver actionable insights that create measurable value for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Modeling
- Design and implement advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics solutions
- Develop end-to-end data science workflows from data ingestion to model deployment and monitoring
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, trends, and business opportunities
- Build and validate statistical models using techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, and time series analysis
- Optimize model performance through feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, and ensemble methods
Business Impact & Strategy
- Present complex findings and recommendations to senior leadership and client executives
- Develop data-driven strategies that directly impact business outcomes and ROI
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation through advanced analytics
Technical Leadership
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists and analysts in technical skills and best practices
- Establish coding standards, documentation practices, and quality assurance processes
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies for the analytics practice
- Collaborate with data engineers to design scalable data pipelines and infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy regulations, and security protocols
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Master&aposs or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative research roles
- Proven track record of delivering business impact through data-driven solutions
- Experience in consulting or client-facing roles preferred
Technical Skills
- Expert proficiency in Python and/or R for statistical analysis and machine learning
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks
- Proficiency in data visualization tools
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data tech (Spark, Hadoop)
- Knowledge of statistical methods, experimental design, and A/B testing
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and model deployment pipelines
Business Skills
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Understanding of business processes across various industries
Language Requirements
- Strong English (written and verbal)
- Thai language proficiency preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Southeast Asian markets and understanding of local business practices
- Industry expertise in areas such as financial services, retail or telecommunications
- Experience with real-time analytics and streaming data processing
- Previous experience building and scaling analytics teams
