We are looking for an experienced and strategic Senior Data Scientist to lead the development of advanced AI/ML solutions for complex lending and financial challenges. This individual will drive the end-to-end data science lifecycle — from ideation and research to production deployment — while mentoring junior team members and collaborating closely with business stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Job responsibilities :
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable AI/ML solutions, setting best practices and progressive delivery standards for the team.
- Architect and oversee robust data pipelines; define data governance frameworks leveraging data lineage and provenance metadata tools to ensure quality, reliability, and traceability at scale.
- Own and continuously improve mission-critical ML production systems; drive full-stack diagnostics, root cause analysis, and enforce robust deployment standards and MLOps best practices across the organization.
- Define long-term model strategy and baseline frameworks; proactively identify and address concept drift, and lead the full lifecycle of productionized ML applications from prototyping through continuous improvement.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists; conduct code and model reviews, share technical knowledge, and foster a culture of engineering excellence within the team.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to shape AI/ML strategy, prioritize initiatives, and align data science outcomes with business objectives.
Requirement skills :
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a related role, with a proven track record of delivering impactful AI/ML solutions in a production environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, or related quantitative discipline.
- 5+ years of advanced proficiency in Python and SQL; experience optimizing large-scale data processing and query performance.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in building, deploying, and scaling end-to-end AI/ML solutions in production environments.
- Experience with python libraries - Numpy, scikit-learn, Pandas, OpenCV, Tensorflow, PyTorch.
- Experience with source version control (Git, Bitbucket).
- Proven knowledge on API Consumption, Docker, Google Big Query.
- Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to translate ambiguous business problems into well-defined data science solutions
- Strong understanding of quantitative analysis methods in relation to financial institutions.
- Ability to clearly communicate modeling results to a wide range of audiences.
It is great if you have
- Experience in image processing, OCR (Optical Character Recognition), and document understanding at scale
- Experience with MLOps platforms (MLflow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI) and cloud-based infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, or NLP applications in a financial services context.
- Prior experience in a tech lead or team lead capacity, including project planning, prioritization, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
