Job Description

The Senior Executive or Assistant Manager - Legal will report to the Head of Legal – Thailand and assist and support senior members of the group's legal team across the hotels, corporate and food workstreams. The position will focus on the groups activities within Asia, the Middle East and Africa. In addition to day-to-day legal support across hotel operations and real estate, corporate and food-business commercial matters, support on M&A, litigation, intellectual property and compliance as required.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing and advising on commercial contracts for hotel teams, including services and procurement agreements
  • Support real estate matters, including land/title review, leases, sales and purchase agreements and Land Department filings and registrations
  • Assist in resolving matters arising in the ordinary course of hotel operations, including guest incidents, owner disputes, regulatory matters, contract negotiations and guiding GMs and hotel teams on operational and contractual matters
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing and advising on corporate secretarial matters, including minutes, resolutions, statutory filings and entity management
  • Support corporate and M&A transactions
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing and advising on commercial, supplier, franchise, licensing and distribution agreements for the food business
  • Support food-related regulatory, labelling and compliance matters
  • Provide support on material and routine disputes and claims
  • Conduct legal research and advisory work as required
  • Assist with trademark, copyright and IP registrations and renewals

About you

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law (a Master's Degree in a related field is advantageous)
  • Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience in an international law firm or in-house legal department
  • Prior exposure to hospitality or food franchise industry is advantageous
  • Cross border legal experience is advantageous
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent organizational skills
  • High level of integrity, discretion and professional ethics
  • Able to work independently under time pressure and support multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional environments and a can-do attitude
