Ordinary Folk is the healthcare company behind Noah (men's health) and Zoey (women's health) — digital health brands serving over 200,000 patients across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan.

We build for the conditions people don't talk about: hair loss, sexual health, weight, hormones, fertility. The things people quietly Google at 2am but never bring up with a doctor. Digital health has been rebuilt from the ground up in the US and Europe, but across Asia, tens of millions of people still go untreated for conditions that are entirely solvable — because the stigma is heavier, the friction is higher, and nobody has built the products that make it feel normal. About the Role

The job of a software engineer has changed more in the last two years than in the previous ten. We're hiring for the job as it exists now.

The engineers we rate highest no longer type most of their code — they direct it. They run AI coding tools as a daily driver, orchestrate agents across a codebase, and spend their judgment where it actually matters: architecture, review, product decisions, and the last mile that separates a demo from something patients can rely on. Their output looks like a small team's. If that describes how you already work — not how you're planning to work someday — keep reading.

You'll be a senior individual contributor on a deliberately small engineering team, shipping end to end across our JavaScript/React codebase: patient-facing product, clinical tooling, and the AI layer that runs underneath the company. No layers of process, no waiting for tickets. You take an ambiguous problem, and you come back with production software.

This is a high-trust, high-ownership role. The flip side: the bar is genuinely high. We're in healthcare, in three regulated markets, and the AI wrote it is never an excuse. Speed and correctness are both the job.

What You'll Do

Ship across the full stack. Own features end to end — frontend, backend, APIs, data — in a React/JavaScript codebase serving patients across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan.

Build AI into the product. LLM-powered features in the patient and clinical experience, and the agent infrastructure behind our internal operating layer — orchestration, tool use, evaluation, and guardrails, with the care that clinical context demands.

Develop AI-first. Use tools like Claude Code and agentic workflows as your default way of building. Multiply your throughput — and own every line that ships as if you'd typed it.

Hold the quality bar. Architecture decisions, code review, testing, and reliability in a codebase moving at AI speed. Healthcare data security and privacy (PDPA and equivalent regimes in HK and JP) are table stakes, not an afterthought.

Work close to the business. Short loops with founders and product. You'll see the problem, the patient, and the metric your work moves.

What You Bring

Must-haves:

• 6–7+ years building and shipping production software, with genuine depth on both sides of the stack
• Expert-level JavaScript/TypeScript and React, plus strong backend fundamentals — API design, data modelling, and the infrastructure to run it
• AI-native development as your default, not your experiment: daily use of AI coding tools and agentic workflows, and the judgment to direct, review, and verify at that speed
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs in shipped product — prompting, tool use, evals — not just using a chatbot on the side
• Strong product instincts and full ownership: you can go from vague problem to shipped feature without hand-holding
• The taste to keep an AI-accelerated codebase clean — architecture judgment and review discipline matter more now, not less

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience in healthcare, fintech, or another regulated industry
• Agent orchestration or AI infrastructure work beyond feature-level integration
• React Native or mobile experience
• Early-stage startup experience where you owned large surfaces solo
