Role Purpose

We are seeking a Senior Gemologist to join a professional laboratory team specializing in colored gemstone analysis. This role is responsible for performing advanced gemological examinations, interpreting complex analytical data, and delivering independent conclusions related to gemstone authenticity, treatment detection, and geographic origin.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, hands‑on laboratory experience, and the ability to work independently on high‑level gemological cases while contributing to the laboratory's knowledge base and analytical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct gemstone identification and analysis, including determining gemstone varieties, detecting artificial treatments, and assessing geographic origins
  • Perform laboratory testing using advanced analytical techniques and instruments, and analyze the resulting data to form independent professional conclusions
  • Manage laboratory samples by receiving, recording, organizing, and maintaining accurate testing documentation and records
  • Establish, maintain, and expand laboratory databases for reference samples, color grading standards, and geographic origin research
  • Support continuous improvement of laboratory methodologies, analytical accuracy, and operational processes
  • Carry out additional professional or laboratory‑related duties as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Gemology, Geology, Mineralogy, or a related scientific discipline
  • Has minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Gemologist, preferably within a gemological laboratory or closely related industry
  • Strong expertise in colored gemstone identification, treatment detection, and laboratory‑based analysis
  • Proven ability to independently interpret analytical results and deliver accurate, scientifically supported conclusions
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and professional integrity
  • Fluency in English for technical reporting and professional communication
