Senior General Ledger Accountant

About the role

deSter Company Limited is seeking a Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our Shared Service Accounting team on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal position based in Si Maha Phot, Prachin Buri (near 304 Industrial Park), responsible for managing and overseeing all general ledger operations and financial accounting processes.

As a Senior General Ledger Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of our financial records, directly supporting the organization's financial reporting and compliance objectives. This role is integral to maintaining the integrity of our financial statements and supporting senior management decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Maintaining and managing the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded, coded and reconciled on a timely basis
• Preparing and reviewing journal entries for accuracy, supporting documentation and proper account coding
• Performing monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly
• Assisting in the preparation of trial balances and ensuring financial data integrity throughout the accounting cycle
• Supporting the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, including account analysis and balance sheet substantiation
• Reviewing and validating transactions for compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Mentoring and supervising junior accounting staff, providing guidance on general ledger procedures and best practices
• Coordinating with other departments to resolve accounting issues and ensure timely financial reporting
• Assisting with audits by providing supporting documentation and detailed account explanations
• Implementing and maintaining effective internal controls over financial reporting processes

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Minimum 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in general ledger accounting or financial accounting roles is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (SAP is preferred).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards and financial reporting requirements relevant to our industry
• Excellent attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Solid understanding of the complete accounting cycle, from transaction recording through to financial statement preparation
• Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve accounting issues
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly
• Experience supervising or training junior accounting staff (preferred)
• Knowledge of internal controls and audit procedures (preferred)
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA or equivalent (preferred)
