About the Scope
Responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting and financial information to ensure that all practices are accurately reflected in the company's records. This includes maintaining financial data, managing the fixed asset register, and recording transactions in full compliance with applicable laws and tax regulations. The role also encompasses the preparation of financial statements and reports required for the business to meet statutory and regulatory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review all internal and external financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, fixed assets, statement of cash flows, and accompanying notes, ensuring compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for financial reporting, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Conduct technical accounting research and prepare memos to document the company's position on complex accounting issues (e.g., revenue recognition, lease accounting, equity transactions).
Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support during annual audits and quarterly reviews.
Oversee and review the work of junior accounting staff related to general ledger and sub-ledger transactions as needed.
Reconcile complex accounts and ensure all financial records, including fixed asset accounts, are maintained accurately and systematically.
Drive process improvement initiatives within the finance function to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Develop and implement process mapping and workflow optimization to streamline accounting operations.
Apply analytical skills to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and support strategic decision-making.
Create and apply innovative solutions to enhance financial reporting and operational effectiveness.
About You (Skills)
In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or IFRS.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, financial modeling).
Strong process mapping and workflow management skills to improve efficiency and clarity in financial operations.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
Creative problem-solving abilities and the capacity to apply innovative approaches to accounting and reporting challenges.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
Your Experience Includes (Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
6+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with a strong focus on financial reporting (Public Accounting experience is highly desirable).
Experience with SAP and standard knowledge of Taxation.
Fair command of spoken and written English is an advantage.
