Job Description

The duties and responsibilities of a Senior Interior Designer include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing comprehensive design plans, including detailed floor plans and advanced 3D renderings that communicate design intent clearly to clients and construction teams
  • Leading conceptual design development from initial programming through design development and construction documentation phases
  • Creating sophisticated sample boards and material libraries that effectively illustrate proposed design concepts and brand alignment to clients
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure that the design is feasible and meets all requirements.
  • Preparing cost estimates and budgets for the project.
  • Overseeing the construction process and ensuring that the design is implemented as intended.
  • Conducting quality control checks on all aspects of the project, including finishes, furnishings, and installation.
  • Staying up to date with industry trends, new materials, and emerging technologies to ensure that designs are fresh, innovative, and sustainable.
  • Conducting site visits to evaluate and measure spaces, including taking photographs and creating sketches of the area.

Qualifications/Experience

The qualifications and experience required for an Interior Designer position with our firm include:

  • Technical proficiency is important, but a strong passion for interior design is crucial to succeed in this role.
  • Possession of a diploma or Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an interior designer, with a specific focus on commercial/workplace interior projects for at least 3 years, either in consultancy or design and build.
  • Thorough understanding of the design process, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), furniture systems and specifications, and color and materials.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite. EnScape Render engine is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating unique, innovative, and functional design solutions.
