Our client is a leading global asset management firm seeking a Legal Counsel to support its institutional and distribution businesses across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial and investment management documentation, including institutional investment management and advisory agreements.
- Partner closely with investment, distribution, product management, client onboarding and operations teams to provide practical legal advice and facilitate business objectives.
- Support business development initiatives, including responses to client requests and mandates, while identifying and mitigating legal and regulatory risks.
- Review and negotiate distribution, platform and other commercial agreements relating to investment products and services.
- Advise on legal, regulatory and governance matters impacting the asset management business, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and industry requirements.
- Monitor regulatory developments and provide guidance on their implications for the business, product offerings and operating framework.
- Participate in governance committees, working groups and strategic initiatives, offering commercially focused legal input to key stakeholders.
- Support new product launches and business projects, including matters relating to sustainability, regulatory change and market developments.
- Undertake legal research and prepare analyses, presentations and recommendations for senior management and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 8 to 15 years PQE gained in private practice and/or an in-house legal function within asset management, investment management or financial services.
- Strong experience negotiating investment management, distribution and other commercial agreements.
