Senior Legal Counsel

The Role

Leading international bank seeks a commercially sharp senior lawyer to lead all legal operations for its local branch entity.

What You'll Do

• Deals & Contracts – Lead legal advisory for corporate lending (bilateral/syndicated), GMRA negotiations, vendor agreements, and credit facility documentation. Secure collateral and enforceability
• Compliance & Regs – Ensure airtight compliance with local banking regulations and data protection laws. Act as checker for corporate secretarial filings
• Disputes & Investigations – Represent the Bank in litigation, arbitration, and regulatory proceedings. Lead internal investigation committees for staff/customer disputes
• Governance – Draft powers of attorney and mandate letters. Shape internal policies, controls, and audit remediation plans
• External Counsel – Manage and coordinate external legal advisors

What You Bring

• 8 to 15 years PQE in banking/financial services (law firm or in-house)
• Strong track record in syndicated lending, GMRA, and security documentation
• Deep knowledge of local banking regulations, data privacy laws, and corporate compliance.
• Sharp drafting, negotiation, and legal risk assessment skills.
• Commercial, proactive, and collaborative – comfortable presenting to senior management
