This position is being recruited by Learn Bridge Recruitment, the talent & organizational partner within a leading Thai education and technology ecosystem. The role is for an experienced Legal Counsel & Data Protection Manager (Senior Legal Manager) to join the in-house legal team in Bangkok.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in business and commercial law, with hands-on experience in PDPA compliance (as DPO) and exposure to corporate governance and IPO preparation. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys balancing strategic advisory with practical execution while leading a small legal & privacy team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on business and commercial matters, including the review and negotiation of B2B/B2C contracts across both revenue and procurement sides, handling approximately 200250 contracts per year.
- Advise on corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance, supporting the organization to operate within SEC/SET frameworks.
- Act as Data Protection Officer (DPO), leading PDPA implementation, compliance audits, incident handling, and staff training initiatives.
- Support the company's pre-IPO legal readiness and ensure compliance with disclosure and connected transaction rules (IPO/public company experience is a strong plus).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive practical, business-oriented legal solutions that enable growth.
- Lead and develop a small team (1 senior subordinate and 1 intern) and report directly to the CFO.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Law (LL.M.) and a valid Thai Lawyer License.
- Minimum 10 years of legal experience in corporate or commercial law; experience with IPO or public companies is highly preferred but not mandatory.
- Proven track record in PDPA compliance, having served as DPO or primary PDPA lead in an organization.
- Fluent in English and Thai with excellent legal drafting skills in both languages.
- Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to manage high-volume contract work.
- Open to candidates from all industries, provided they have solid corporate/commercial and data protection experience.
