This is a contractual engagement under the Project Management Unit (PMU) for an initial period of 5 years, extendable based on performance and organizational requirements.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Senior Manager – Architect for architecture governance of the GeM platform architecture. The role is responsible for ensuring secure, scalable and high-quality solution architectures across cloud-native applications, AI/ML platforms, enterprise data solutions and search technologies. The Architect will collaborate with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and internal stakeholders to validate deliverables, translate business requirements into architecture changes and enforce compliance with GeM's standards. The role will also ensure designs remain portable and adaptable to emerging strategies, while contributing to the evaluation and adoption of hybrid and multi-cloud strategies.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY

• Governance & Oversight
• Oversee MSP‑led solution design ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture, data governance, security and regulatory standards.
• Establish architecture review and validation checkpoints for audit‑readiness and long‑term maintainability.
• Design Validation & Standards
• Collaborate with MSP to ensure design is aligned with business requirements.
• Review and validate HLDs/LLDs across applications, data platforms for consistency and lifecycle alignment.
• Enforce Domain‑Driven Design, microservices, event‑driven/data‑centric design and API/data governance best practices.
• Review and govern enterprise search architecture including indexing pipelines, query processing, relevance tuning, semantic search and AI-powered search capabilities.
• Data & AI Solution Enablement
• Provide architecture guidance for the design and integration of AI/ML, BI and enterprise data platforms, ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture, security and data governance standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders for evaluation of AI/ML solution designs, technology choices and integration approaches to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and business objectives.
• Quality Assurance
• Govern enterprise architecture quality standards, technical KPIs, and non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, availability, security, and resilience) to ensure delivery of robust, enterprise-grade solutions.
• Drive root cause analysis for critical production issues, identify architectural improvements, and lead initiatives to improve platform reliability, maintainability and operational excellence.
• Ensure interoperability, standardization, and seamless integration across enterprise applications, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures, cloud platforms and data ecosystems by enforcing integration patterns and API governance.
• Cloud Strategy & Optimization
• Support evaluation of cloud portability and hybrid cloud strategies.
• Identify opportunities to optimize cloud services and resource utilization.
• Stakeholder Alignment
• Lead cross-functional collaboration across Product, Engineering, Operations, Security, QA, Infrastructure, MSPs, and Governance teams to deliver scalable enterprise solutions by driving architecture governance, design reviews, stakeholder alignment, risk management and execution excellence.
• Any other responsibility as may be assigned from time to time.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 8+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Applications, Cloud-Native Platforms and Distributed Systems.
• 3+ years of experience in Architecture design or governance, Design Reviews and ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture standards.
• Strong expertise in designing Microservices, REST APIs, Event-Driven Architectures and scalable cloud-native solutions using Java 21 and Spring Framework.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including MSK (Kafka), ECS/EKS and other cloud-native technologies.
• Experience reviewing HLDs and LLDs to ensure scalable, secure and standards-compliant solution designs.
• Good understanding of AI/ML solution architecture, enterprise data platforms, analytics and search technologies.
• Knowledge of scalability, resilience, high availability and disaster recovery concepts for enterprise applications.
• Proven ability to collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, Operations, MSPs and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and high-quality enterprise solutions.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Essential: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) / MCA from a recognized University.

GOOD TO HAVE SKILLS

• Basic understanding of AI/ML, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services such as EKS, API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, SNS/SQS and related cloud-native technologies.
• Exposure to AWS analytics services like Athena, Glue, EMR and Redshift is an added advantage.
• Exposure to AI-powered enterprise search, semantic search, vector databases and modern AI technologies is an added advantage.
• Understanding of enterprise data governance, data quality, privacy and regulatory compliance principles.
• Familiarity with BI and analytics platforms, dashboards, reporting, KPI frameworks and data visualization.
• Awareness of AI governance, model lifecycle management and responsible AI practices for enterprise solutions.
• Knowledge of GitLab, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, automated testing and modern software delivery practices.
