Senior Manager / AGM – Distribution Sales (Solar Residential & Energy Storage)

About The Role
We are looking for an experienced sales leader from the solar manufacturing and power electronics industry to lead and grow two strategic business verticals across India:
- Our Existing Distribution Business, where we distribute leading global solar brands through our established sales network.
- Our Own Product Business, comprising our proprietary Hybrid Inverters and Lithium Battery product portfolio, where the primary responsibility is to establish and expand a strong nationwide distributor and channel partner ecosystem.
The ideal candidate should have proven experience in channel sales, distributor management, business development, and market expansion while working with a reputed solar inverter, battery, ESS, or power electronics manufacturer.
The role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, strengthening channel relationships, and executing business strategies for both verticals.
- Existing Distribution Business
- Drive sales growth for our existing distributed solar product portfolio across India.
- Strengthen relationships with existing distributors, EPCs, installers, dealers, and key accounts.
- Develop business plans to increase sales through the current distribution network.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing territories and customer segments.
- Ensure healthy inventory movement, forecasting, and stock planning.
- Coordinate with principals for sales planning, pricing strategies, product launches, and promotional activities.
- Monitor sales performance, collections, and distributor profitability.
- Own Brand Business (Hybrid Inverters & Lithium Batteries)
- Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy for our own Hybrid Inverter and Lithium Battery product portfolio.
- Identify, appoint, and develop new distributors across India.
- Build a robust network of dealers, channel partners, solar installers, retailers, and EPC companies.
- Drive market penetration and increase brand visibility through dealer meets, technical seminars, roadshows, exhibitions, and training programs.
- Establish long-term strategic partnerships with key channel partners.
- Support new product launches and ensure faster market adoption.
- Develop pricing, incentive, and channel engagement programs to accelerate business growth.
Channel Development & Partner Management
- Expand and strengthen the nationwide distribution network.
- Build strong relationships with distributors, dealers, EPC companies, installers, and strategic partners.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key channel partners.
- Ensure partner profitability, business growth, and high customer satisfaction.
- Resolve channel conflicts and support business expansion initiatives.
Product & Technical Enablement
- Conduct product presentations and technical training for channel partners and sales teams.
- Work closely with Product Management and Technical Support to gather market intelligence and customer feedback.
- Provide competitive insights to support product development and pricing strategies.
Business Operations
- Prepare annual sales plans, forecasts, and monthly MIS.
- Monitor pricing, collections, inventory, and channel profitability.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Service, Marketing, and Finance teams to ensure smooth business operations.
- Drive sales forecasting and demand planning.
Market Intelligence
- Track competitor products, pricing, channel programs, and market trends.
- Identify new business opportunities and emerging market segments.
- Recommend business strategies to improve market share and channel effectiveness.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics preferred); MBA preferred.
- 7–12 years of experience in Solar Distribution, Channel Sales, or Business Development.
- The ideal candidate should have managed an annual business of at least INR 50 Crore, led a sales team of 8–10 or more professionals, and possess a strong track record of driving growth through channel partners and distributor networks in the solar industry.
- Mandatory experience with a Solar Inverter, Battery, ESS, or Power Electronics manufacturer.
- Strong understanding of both manufacturer-led channel development and distributor business models.
- Proven experience in appointing and managing distributors, dealers, EPCs, and installer networks.
- Experience in Hybrid Inverters, On-Grid Inverters, Lithium Batteries, ESS, or related renewable energy products.
- Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Existing industry network with distributors and solar channel partners across India will be a significant advantage.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India.
