The Senior Manager Innovation is responsible for driving enterprise-wide innovation initiatives, translating emerging ideas and technologies into scalable business solutions. This role leads business model innovation, continuous improvement programs, and design thinking practices to strengthen competitive advantage and long-term growth.
- Establish governance frameworks, stage-gate processes, and selection criteria for innovation investments.
- Oversee and prioritise the innovation portfolio to ensure strategic alignment, resource optimisation, and measurable impact.
- Lead enterprise-level business model innovation from ideation through validation, implementation, and scale-up.
- Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities, including adjacent markets, new revenue streams, and ecosystem plays.
- Conduct comprehensive feasibility assessments covering market attractiveness, financial modelling, risk analysis, and scalability.
- Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends; assess relevance and translate insights into actionable initiatives.
- Drive external ecosystem engagement and develop strategic partnerships to accelerate innovation outcomes.
- Sponsor and steer cross-functional innovation programs to ensure effective execution across business units.
- Manage high-impact innovation initiatives, including stakeholder alignment, budget oversight, and performance tracking.
- Oversee intellectual property considerations and ensure appropriate protection of innovation outputs.
- Provide strategic insights, data-driven storytelling, and executive-level recommendations to support investment decisions.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Innovation Management, Strategy, Engineering, or related field.
- 710 years of experience in innovation, corporate strategy, transformation, or business development.
- Proven experience designing and implementing innovation projects across the full innovation lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to execute initiatives that drive continuous improvement and innovation culture development.
- Experience monitoring and analysing emerging technology trends.
- Strong background in financial modelling and feasibility analysis.
- Experience in retail and/or wholesale industry is highly preferred.
