Job Description

Overview

  1. Providing end to end legal support and guidance to Beverage category teams of India and Snacks and Beverage teams of other BU countries viz. Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka (3 Countries) for all their initiatives
  2. Advising Beverage Category and 3 Country Category teams on legal implications of various proposals, including new product claims, market activations, product launches
  3. Supporting Comms team on internal and external communication material related to all initiatives.
  4. Closely work with internal stakeholders on identifying or addressing and mitigating risks relating to corporate reputation /brand reputation in relation to Beverages.
  5. Manage PAN India litigation related to all matters for Beverages
  6. Closely work with SRA and PPGA teams to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory challenges specifically with respect to Food laws, Legal Megtrology and BIS for Beverage category in India and 3 Countries


Responsibilities

  1. Provide end to end legal support and guidance to Beverage category and 3 Countries teams for all their initiatives to help achieve AOP targets
  2. Work closely with Beverage vertical lead and other internal stakeholders on the issues relating to brand reputation, including on social media platforms
  3. Review and approve all brand promotions, campaigns and marketing activation plans while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  4. Collaborate with Beverage Category and relevant 3 Countries teams, PD, NS and SRA to assess the legal implications of various proposals, including new product launches, product claims and offer solution to help execute proposals without compromising legal and compliance requirements
  5. Review internal approval Memos as per Multi Year Contracts (MYC) thresholds highlighting legal risk and advise risk remediation.
  6. Work in close co-ordination with external counsels to monitor and strategize PAN India litigation related to Food law (PFA/FSSAI) matters related to Beverages and to close long pending matters without compromising strategic position of PepsiCo.
  7. Continuously monitor developments on Groundwater in regulatory and judiciary space to keep the business abreast of the developments and to enable timely action to mitigate any risk arising out of these developments
  8. Draft, review and negotiate all legal documentation relating to celebrity endorsement, media buying, Brand promotions and all other documents related to the business being supported
  9. Work closely with business partners on business agenda and initiatives relating to 3 countries including Agro initiatives, Policy matters, product import, product launches, local laws and regulation, dealing with local regulatory challenges
  10. Support Beverage, 3 Countries and Comms team by providing legal inputs and guidance on internal and external communication related to Beverage initiatives.
  11. Keep a close watch on key legal/regulatory headwinds and advise and align the business stakeholders
  12. Work closely with SRA and PPGA teams to identify and mitigate legal and regulatory challenges with respect to Food laws, Legal Metrology and BIS and to support the teams in suitable representations with relevant regulatory authorities to safeguard PepsiCo interest and to ensure business continuity.
  13. Work closely with C&E teams to provide legal guidance and support in COC Investigations and to imparting FCPA and Anti Bribery training to employees


Qualifications

  1. Law Graduate with PQE of 8-10 years
  2. Excellent knowledge of Food and Packaged commodities laws, social media laws and other laws applicable to an FMCG industry
  3. Good legal research and interpretation skills
  4. Sound legal drafting and negotiation skills
  5. Excellent communication skills
  6. Good networking with KOLs
