Senior Manager, Project Procurement & Contracts

JOB OVERVIEW:

A well-established organisation in the energy and infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead procurement, tendering and contract management for major projects. This senior management role is responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing tender processes, leading commercial negotiations and ensuring effective contract governance, cost optimization and risk management.

The successful candidate will work closely with management, project teams, consultants, contractors and suppliers to support the successful delivery of projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Lead end-to-end procurement, tendering and contracting activities for major projects.
2. Develop and implement procurement strategies that optimise cost, quality and project delivery timelines.
3. Oversee the preparation, issuance, evaluation, clarification and award of tenders.
4. Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with suppliers, contractors, subcontractors and consultants.
5. Review commercial terms and contractual obligations to protect the organisation's interests.
6. Identify, assess and mitigate procurement, contractual and commercial risks.
7. Establish and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers, contractors and project stakeholders.
8. Monitor supplier and contractor performance, including cost, quality, delivery and contractual compliance.
9. Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, approval limits and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
10. Support project teams in resolving procurement, commercial and contractual matters.
11. Lead, guide and develop the procurement and contracts team.
12. Monitor market conditions, pricing trends and supply-chain developments.
13. Prepare procurement reports, cost-saving analyses and recommendations for senior management.
14. Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, governance and controls.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification or relevant professional certification would be an added advantage.
2. Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in procurement, tender management and contract negotiation.
3. Experience in energy, power, engineering, construction, EPCC or infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.
4. Proven experience managing complex and high-value procurement packages.
5. Strong understanding of tendering processes, contract administration, procurement governance and commercial risk management.
6. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers, contractors and other commercial parties.
7. Strong leadership, analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
8. Commercially astute, detail oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.
9. Able to engage effectively with senior management and cross-functional project teams.
