Position: Senior Manager – Supply & Logistics

Position Reports to: General Manager

Department: Supply

Location: Surat Thani, Thailand

Summary of Position:

Senior Manager – Supply and Logistics is responsible for overseeing and managing company's overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations to maximize the process efficiency and productivity, working with both internal (plant and regional) and external customers (suppliers/vendors).

This includes accountability for the warehouse layout, warehouse flow, shipping planning-execution-efficiency, production planning and scheduling, purchasing, material handling, and inventory management; while optimizing the level of resources needed (inventory, capacity, and costs).

Fully understands the role/impact of the plant within the global Supply Chain and attached to a constant integration of customer focus both internally and externally.

Responsibilities & Specific Accountabilities

  • Interact closely with regional S&OP, sales, operations, customers, plant, and functional leaders to ensure on-time delivery and demands/requirements within the manufacturing's capacities and capabilities.
  • Manage the team in charge of internal flows management (including production planning & scheduling, warehouse management, purchasing, material handling & shipping.)
  • Guarantee the efficiency of the Supply Chain processes for the site (standards procedures implementation & improvement).
  • Directs the activities of the supply chain group and functional areas to improve tools and processes and optimize performance in achieving operational goals and objectives.
  • Drives lean activities through the organization by partnering with related groups to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
  • Effectively manages and directs the planning, purchasing, and distribution areas, with corporate guidance, to proactively recognize and resolve issues that impact production output and manage working capital and coordinates with manufacturing and marketing services to ensure achievement of established schedules and on time shipment of orders to customers.
  • Directs sourcing initiatives, with corporate guidance, to drive improvements in overall costs and delivery performance from vendors.
  • Plan and organize the activities about materials management/control to best utilize personnel to achieve short- and long-range objectives.
  • Control various load factors to ensure maximum usage of capacity considering, labor, tools, and equipment. Enforce the ordering rules with the regions and communicate any issues with delivery of orders to the regions.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and develop additional and/ or alternate sources of supply for important materials, maintain a list of acceptable vendors and makes recommendations to reduce costs.
  • Direct the overall functions of import/export traffic to ensure compliance with all government requirements by remaining abreast of all regulatory changes and developments concerning import/export traffic and documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with all internal and external EHS rules, regulations, and other Risk Management requirements.

Key Position Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (supply chain management, procurement, engineering, operations, finance, and business administration). Advanced Degree preferred.
  • In case of education degree/field does not match with above requirement, relevant proven experience within LifeStyles or related manufacturing such as rubber or medical device products could be considered.

Job Experience

  • At least 5 years in Supply Chain Management experience in a process manufacturing environment with at least 6-8 years being in a lead and/or supervisory position as well as experience on international business coordination.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to be a transformational leader, specifically the ability to lead and promote change.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of coordinating all the entities involved in a supply chain.
  • Knowledge of managing returns and rejections professionally & promptly with suppliers.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English, maturity to deal with matters of confidentiality and sensitivity.
  • Ability to negotiate with supplier relative to product costing and inventory management while developing and maintaining positive supplier relationships.
  • Strong computer and analytical skills
