Job Description

This position is part of the Design & Technical Services team for Minor Hotels, requiring the services of an experienced individual who has deep knowledge of practices in the areas of hotel

Construction, Design and Building Renovation. Incumbents are responsible for managing multiple

projects simultaneously, protecting the interests and assets of the organization by ensuring

compliance to Minor Architectural, Technical and Design standards and the project completion on

time and on budget.

Work is typically accomplished through interaction and working closely with Technical Services

team, Design Consultants, Project Managers and Hotel Owners to ensure compliance with Minor

Hotels standards. Provides assistance with Technical Services delivery as part of new construction

and renovation projects. Familiarity with computer-assisted design, drafting and project

management software applications is required. Acts as project manager in terms of technical

services for new construction and renovation projects as assigned by the Director, Group Director

and VP Technical Services. It is also expected, in this role that the candidate will assist with setting

up new standards and devising new technical policies for Design & Technical Services.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the key contact, between owners and owner's appointed consultants and project

management, planning and design and deliverables on variety of project task forces to

ensure that projects are executed in line with the associated brand and functional

requirements defined.

• Leads and monitors the project progress to ensure project goals are achieved according to

the agreed budget, deliverables, and schedule.

• Associate with Business Development team, provide a property development plan for any

conversion or greenfield developments.

• Prioritizes and manages multiple projects simultaneously and follows through on issues

in a timely manner.

• Actively monitors, adherence to ongoing project designs and schedules to ensure that work

is performed within design and allotted schedule parameters; reviews and approves change

for valid revisions to original design; identifies deviations from approved design, and/or

construction/safety standards; takes prompt action to rectify situations within the scope of

authority or to notify higher level authority; follows up to ensure issues are resolved.

• Develops and communicates an effective action plan and timeline for assigned project(s);

monitors general progress and prepares status reports and other materials documenting the

process; develops punch lists for completed construction work and close-out construction

contracts; identifies potential pitfalls and facilitates process to ensure effectively and timely

completion within budget parameters.

• Leading the support to hotel Owners and Operation team in providing guidance, procedures,

and documentation in the handover of hotel upon project completion.

• Provides guidance and counsel to project management staff to assist with on-the-job training

towards attainment of high levels of technical proficiency; may review contractual materials,

design materials, budgets/expense forecasts and/or other work products for accuracy,

thoroughness, and conformance to brand standards.

• Participates in the development of Minor Hotels policies, standards, manuals, guidelines,

procedures and/or communication materials to define, implement and maintain project

management activities within the context of legal compliance and the business objectives of

the organization; may develop guidelines for selecting external contractors, vendors and

service providers to ensure they understand, apply and operate within Minor Hotels

standards.

• Assists with maintenance of the Design & Technical Standards Manual, Design Guidelines for

all Minor Hotels brand, and ensures this collateral is regularly updated and improved by

keeping current with latest technology and design.

• Updates and maintains status of project(s) database; produces ad hoc reports that reflect the

status of current activities and provide management with the means to track/control

expenses and progress.

• Other duties as directed.

Qualifications

• University graduate in Architecture or Interior Design.

• A minimum 8 years working experience with architectural firms, interior designer firms,

property developers or hotel companies, preferably in a project management related

capacity.

• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

• Effective and professional communication abilities.

• Professional writing capabilities, including being able to communicate with employees,

vendors, and clients or guests.

• Great customer service and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational and planning skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, photoshops
