Senior Mechanical Engineering (Data Center) - True/Arise IDC
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer specialising in Data Centre infrastructure to join our team at True IDC. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to lead mechanical engineering initiatives for mission-critical data center facilities. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take on a strategic role in designing, implementing and optimising mechanical systems that support data center operations, ensuring reliability, efficiency and compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting the growth and operational excellence of our data center infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems and solutions for data center facilities, including HVAC, cooling systems, power distribution and supporting infrastructure
- Conduct engineering assessments and feasibility studies for data center expansion projects and facility upgrades
- Lead the preparation of detailed technical specifications, engineering drawings and documentation for data center mechanical systems
- Oversee the procurement process for mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements and budgetary constraints
- Supervise and coordinate with installation contractors to ensure proper implementation of mechanical systems in accordance with design specifications
- Perform equipment commissioning, testing and validation to ensure all mechanical systems operate at optimal performance levels
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes and operational protocols for data centre mechanical systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, facilities management and operations to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical system issues and operational challenges
- Stay current with industry standards, best practices and emerging technologies in data centre mechanical engineering
- Mentor junior engineering staff and contribute to the development of the engineering team
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with substantial experience in data center facility design or industrial HVAC systems
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing cooling systems, power distribution infrastructure and thermal management solutions for data center
- Strong proficiency in engineering design software and CAD applications used for mechanical system modelling and documentation
- Comprehensive knowledge of data center standards and best practices
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including overseeing multiple concurrent projects from conception through commissioning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex technical challenges
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Professional Engineering (PE) licence or equivalent professional certification is highly desirable
- Experience with facility energy management systems and sustainability practices in data centre operations is preferred
- Knowledge of Thai engineering standards and regulations is advantageous.
- Able to frequently travel to others city beside than Bangkok (Chonburi/Rayong/Bangkok/Nonthaburi/Samuth Prakan)
