Job Description

Senior Mechanical Engineering(Fire Suppression & Sanitary System)

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of fire protection and sanitary systems in data center projects. This role ensures all systems are delivered according to project specifications, comply with local and international standards, and are smoothly handed over for operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Management

  • Review and manage design development for all fire protection systems (e.g., fire suppression, detection, alarms, sprinklers, clean agent systems) and sanitary systems (e.g., drainage, plumbing, waste and water supply).
  • Ensure designs meet data center operational requirements, local regulations, and international standards (e.g., NFPA, FM Global, ASPE, ISO).
  • Coordinate with architects, MEP, civil, and structural teams to integrate fire and sanitary systems effectively in the overall design.
  • Review consultant and contractor shop drawings, design submittals, and technical specifications.

2. Installation Oversight

  • Supervise the on-site installation of all fire and sanitary systems to ensure proper execution, sequencing, and workmanship.
  • Verify that equipment (e.g., fire pumps, panels, piping, toilets, drainage) are installed per approved drawings and technical standards.
  • Resolve site issues promptly and ensure compliance with QA/QC protocols.

3. Testing & Commissioning

  • Plan, manage, and witness the testing and commissioning (T&C) of fire and sanitary systems, including water flow tests, alarm system verification, functional tests of suppression systems, drainage and plumbing checks, and system balancing.
  • Coordinate with contractors and third-party commissioning agents to ensure proper T&C documentation and performance testing.
  • Ensure all systems are fully operational, reliable, and integrated with the data center's BMS and DCIM platforms where applicable.

4. Compliance & Quality Control

  • Ensure all works comply with local authority requirements, environmental codes, and global safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, raise non-compliance reports (NCRs), and enforce corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage certifications, fire safety approvals, and documentation required for occupancy and system sign-off.

5. Handover & Operational Readiness

  • Prepare as-built documentation, O&M manuals, test reports, and system schematics.
  • Coordinate system training for operations and maintenance staff.
  • Ensure a seamless handover of fire and sanitary systems to the facilities management team with zero outstanding issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in MEP or fire/sanitary system design and construction, preferably in data centers or critical facilities.
  • Solid knowledge of NFPA standards, local fire codes, plumbing codes, and water conservation requirements.
  • Experience in managing contractors, reviewing design documents, and leading commissioning activities.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and project coordination tools.
  • Frequently travel to others area or site constructions is required (Bangkok/Nonthaburi/Samut Prakan/Chonburi)

Key Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge of active and passive fire protection systems and plumbing infrastructure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Capable of coordinating with multidisciplinary teams under fast-paced construction timelines.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage regulatory approvals and interface with local authorities.
