What You'll do

The Senior Operations Manager - Warehousing Solutions is responsible for overseeing all Thailand warehousing and distribution operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality services are delivered to clients. This role involves managing day-to- day operations, developing operational strategies, improving processes, and leading teams to achieve the company's goals. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of warehousing, distribution, inventory management, and logistics, combined with strong leadership skills to guide a growing team.

Principal Accountabilities:

1.1 Overall Operational Leadership (Multi-Site total 35,000 Sqm and 150 staff)

  • The Senior Operations Manager is accountable for the overall operational performance, cost efficiency, service quality, and profitability of warehousing operations in Thailand, ensuring sustainable growth and compliance with Rhenus standards.
  • Oversee daily operations across multiple warehouse and in-plant locations, ensuring seamless inbound, outbound, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch processes.
  • Ensure operational KPIs are achieved, including productivity, order accuracy, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, and service reliability.
  • Monitor and improve dock-to-stock and stock-to-ship lead times across all assigned sites.
  • Ensure material flow, warehouse layout, and space utilization are optimized to balance efficiency, flexibility, and scalability.

1.2 Warehouse & In-Plant Operations Management

  • Provide direct leadership and governance to Warehouse Managers and Operations Managers.
  • Ensure in-plant warehouse operations are fully aligned with customer requirements while maintaining Rhenus operational standards and independence.
  • Act as the senior operational escalation point for key customers, ensuring rapid issue resolution and prevention of repeat incidents.
  • Ensure special handling requirements (e.g. DG, temperature-controlled, regulated goods) are executed in full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

1.3 Productivity, Cost Control & Resource Management

  • Drive labor productivity through defined labor standards, workforce planning, and flexible manpower deployment.
  • Control overtime, staffing levels, and outsourced labor usage in line with volume fluctuations.
  • Monitor operational cost drivers and implement actions to improve cost efficiency without compromising service quality.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning in collaboration with Finance.
  • Full responsibility for operational cost control and contribution margin (DBIII) of Thailand warehousing operations.
  • Accountable for achieving productivity and cost KPIs in line with budget.

1.4 Continuous Improvement, OpEx & Automation

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all sites, focusing on productivity, quality, safety, and cost.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies to eliminate waste and improve operational performance.
  • Support and drive implementation of automation, mechanization, and system enhancements where justified by volume and business case.
  • Ensure best practices and standard tools defined by Rhenus are consistently applied across operations.

1.5 Systems, WMS & Data Discipline

  • Ensure effective use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related IT tools to enable inventory accuracy, traceability, and reporting.
  • Ensure master data discipline, UOM control, and transaction accuracy across all operations.
  • Use operational data and KPIs to drive fact-based decision-making and performance management.

1.6 Customer Management & Service Excellence

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key customers from an operational perspective.
  • Ensure customer SLAs and KPIs are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Support contract implementation, onboarding of new customers, and expansion of existing accounts from an operational standpoint.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Solution Design, and Customer Service teams to align operational capability with customer commitments.

1.7 Vendor, Procurement & Asset Management

  • Oversee operational vendor management, including labor providers, equipment suppliers, and service vendors.
  • Support negotiation and performance management of operational vendors to ensure competitiveness, reliability, and compliance.
  • Ensure effective utilization and maintenance of material handling equipment, racking systems, and warehouse assets.

1.8 Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with HSEQ standards, legal requirements, and customer-specific regulations across all sites.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, training, audits, and proactive risk management.
  • Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented and sustained following incidents, audits, or customer findings.

1.9 Project & Solution Design Support

  • Support multi-site operational projects including warehouse go-lives, relocations, expansions, and customer migrations.
  • Work closely with the Solution Design and Project teams to ensure warehouse layouts, workflows, equipment, and manpower models reflect operational reality.
  • Provide operational input and validation during project design, implementation, and stabilization phases.

1.10 Leadership, People Development & Governance

  • Lead, coach, and develop Warehouse Managers and operational leaders, building a strong succession pipeline.
  • Drive performance management, capability development, and accountability within operations teams.
  • Foster a collaborative, disciplined, and performance-driven culture across all warehousing operations.

What You Bring:

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Operations Excellence certification preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • At least 5 years in a senior operational leadership role managing multi-site warehouse operations.
  • Proven experience in productivity improvement, continuous improvement, and operational transformation.
  • Experience in 1PL or contract logistics environment strongly preferred.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, labor management, and material flow design.
  • Solid understanding of WMS, ERP interfaces, and operational reporting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

Interpersonal & Leadership Skills

  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders at different organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
  • Hands-on, structured, and resilient leadership style with a strong sense of accountability.
