Senior Procurement Engineer (Molds, Machinery, Packaging & Outsourced Products)
The Senior Procurement Engineer will manage an extensive portfolio encompassing technical, commercial, and strategic sourcing. This role is responsible for the procurement of high-precision glassware molds and heavy production machinery, as well as managing outsourced products (OEM/Trading) and industrial packaging materials. The ideal candidate will combine technical engineering expertise with strong commercial acumen to optimize costs, ensure product quality, and secure supply chain continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Mold & Machinery Sourcing: Lead the strategic procurement of glass-forming molds (Blank/Blow molds, Neck rings) and heavy machinery (IS Machines, Lehrs, Inspection systems). Evaluate engineering drawings (2D/3D), materials (cast iron, bronze alloys), and supplier manufacturing capabilities.
Outsource Products & OEM Management: Source and manage third-party/outsource products and OEM suppliers to complement the company's product portfolio (e.g., closures, caps, specialized glassware, or trading items). Handle end-to-end qualification and supplier performance.
Packaging Procurement: Source high-quality, cost-effective packaging materials specialized for fragile goods logistics (e.g., heavy-duty corrugated boxes, paper pallets, plastic pallets, stretch/shrink films, and dividers) ensuring safe transportation.
Commercial Negotiation & Contracts: Lead high-value contract negotiations regarding pricing structures, lead times, payment terms, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for both technical assets and high-volume materials.
Cost Optimization & Value Engineering (VE): Conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis. Partner with Plant Engineering, Product Design, and Supply Chain teams to drive cost-reduction initiatives across molds, outsourced goods, and packaging without compromising quality.
Supplier Relationship & Risk Management: Audit, evaluate, and develop a reliable network of domestic and international suppliers. Mitigate risks related to raw material price volatility, supply shortages, and logistics.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Production, Material/Ceramic Engineering, or related fields).
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in technical procurement or strategic sourcing within a large-scale manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
