About the Role
This role is focused on developing and executing procurement strategies and category management plans.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies and category management plans.
- Lead RFQ, tender processes, supplier evaluation, and commercial negotiations.
- Drive cost control and measurable cost-saving initiatives.
- Manage supplier performance, contracts, and commercial terms.
- Oversee end-to-end procurement processes (PR to PO to delivery and invoice verification).
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit standards, and governance policies.
- Optimize inventory levels and coordinate cross-functionally to ensure timely procurement.
- Lead procurement process improvement and digital transformation initiatives.
- Supervise, develop, and strengthen the procurement team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing and cost reduction initiatives.
- Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills.
- Experience working in medium to large organizations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in building and implementing procurement systems and processes (A must).
- Experience in complex procurement environments. Candidates without transport experience must have a background in industries with challenging purchasing categories (e.g., manufacturing, raw materials, spare parts, heavy equipment).
- Strong logical thinking and sound business judgment.
- High leadership capability with experience leading and developing teams.
- Proven experience in rebuilding or restructuring underperforming teams.
- Experience resolving high turnover and team conflict issues.
- Ability to redesign SOPs and workflows to improve efficiency and transparency.
