Primary Functions
The Construction Project Engineer is responsible for onsite execution, coordination, and control of all construction and commissioning activities for the Modified Starch Expansion Project. This role serves as Ingredion's onsite representative, ensuring safe, compliant, and high‑quality work by all contractors throughout construction, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and handover.
Key Deliverables
Construction Execution & Site Leadership
– Serve as the primary onsite engineering representative overseeing daily construction activities.
– Act as Area Owner, ensuring safe access, readiness, and control of assigned work zones.
– Lead daily site coordination with EPCm, contractors, and operations.
– Ensure construction progress aligns with approved designs, specifications, and project schedule.
– Identify field issues, lead troubleshooting, and drive timely resolution.
– Verify construction quality, perform inspections, and support QA/QC closure.
Contractor Oversight & Interface Management
– Represent Ingredion in all contractor meetings, including daily toolbox talks, weekly coordination, and progress reviews.
– Monitor contractor performance, manpower, work methods, and adherence to contractual requirements.
– Review and approve method statements, shop drawings, job hazard analyses, and installation procedures.
– Ensure interface alignment between EPCm, civil, mechanical, electrical, automation, and vendor teams.
EHS Compliance & Permit-to-Work System
– Ensure 100% compliance with Ingredion and Thai regulatory EHS standards.
– Act as Permit-to-Work Approver for hot work, confined space, LOTO, excavation, working-at-height, and other critical activities.
– Conduct routine safety walks, audits, and participation in incident investigations.
Project Controls and Reporting
– Track daily progress, resource utilization, productivity, and critical path risks.
– Provide weekly updates on construction status, issues, and risk mitigation actions.
– Verify contractor progress for billing, change orders, and claims.
– Support cost control, materials management, and schedule optimization efforts.
Commissioning & Startup Support
– Coordinate mechanical completion, punch listing, and system handover preparation.
– Oversee pre‑commissioning activities: flushing, cleaning, testing, verification, and equipment readiness checks.
– Support commissioning leads and vendor representatives during energization, dry runs, and process startup.
– Ensure documentation completeness: ITPs, test sheets, red lines, as-builts, and turnover packages.
Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:
– Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
– Minimum 8–10 years experience in construction engineering on industrial projects (preferred: food, chemical, starch, pharma).
– Strong understanding of construction methods, sequence planning, quality standards, and multi‑discipline coordination.
– Demonstrated experience with onsite commissioning activities.
– Advanced knowledge of EHS requirements, PTW systems, LOTO, contractor safety management.
– Fluent in Thai; proficient in English spoken and written.
– Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and ability to review AutoCAD drawings.
