Job Description
- Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with quality, food safety, regulatory, customer, and corporate standards.
- Lead and maintain food safety systems, including FSSC 22000, HACCP, GHPs, pest control programs, and prerequisite programs.
- Serve as the primary quality representative for customer, regulatory, and certification audits, ensuring successful preparation, execution, and closure.
- Manage customer complaints by driving root cause investigations, corrective actions, preventive actions, and response improvements.
- Strengthen quality culture through employee engagement programs, quality awareness initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
- Administer quality alert systems, ensuring timely communication, monitoring, and closure of quality-related issues.
- Conduct gap assessments against global quality standards and drive compliance improvement actions.
- Monitor and report quality roadmap progress, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives.
- Oversee environmental monitoring and pest management programs to maintain food safety and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure laboratory operations comply with food safety, quality, regulatory, Halal, Kosher, allergen, and customer requirements.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation, quality controls, laboratory records, inspection systems, and finished product release processes.
- Plan and coordinate internal audits and management review activities in accordance with certification requirements.
- Support customer visits, audits, and quality-related assessments.
- Verify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions arising from complaints, audits, and root cause analyses.
- Ensure quality non-conformances are properly documented, tracked, and resolved within established timelines.
- Lead, coach, and develop QA/QC team members to enhance technical competencies and ownership.
- Deliver food safety, quality, and compliance training to employees across the site.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support talent development and succession planning.
- Promote a culture of food safety, quality excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Procurement, EHS, Sales, Regulatory Affairs, Customer Quality, and regional QA teams.
- Provide quality expertise for process changes, product trials, plant projects, and business improvement initiatives.
- Support customers and internal stakeholders with technical quality-related guidance and investigations.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of Quality Assurance experience within food, beverage, ingredient, or related manufacturing industries.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and quality management systems, including FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, HACCP, GHPs, Halal, and Kosher standards.
- Proven experience leading certification, customer, and regulatory audits.
- Certified FSSC 22000 Lead Auditor, PCQI, and FDQI.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, compliance requirements, and quality management principles.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with statistical analysis, quality metrics, and process capability studies (Cpk/Ppk).
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and teamwork skills.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while driving continuous improvement.
