The Senior Software QA is responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and performance of software applications throughout the software development lifecycle. This role leads test planning activities, designs and executes comprehensive manual and automated test cases, identifies and tracks defects, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure software solutions meet functional and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans, strategies, and detailed test cases across functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
- Design, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and frameworks
- Identify, document, and manage defects with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis
- Perform regression testing and validation following bug fixes or new releases
- Collaborate with Product, Development, and Project teams to ensure requirement clarity and test coverage
- Participate in all phases of the SDLC to ensure quality is embedded from early stages
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and standard
- Provide regular reporting on test coverage, defect metrics, and overall quality status
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related fields (or equivalent practical experience)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing/quality assurance roles
- Strong hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing
- Solid understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies (Agile/Waterfall)
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and API testing tools
- Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail) and version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Basic database knowledge and ability to write SQL queries for data validation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- ISTQB certification and experience in performance or security testing are advantages
