Job Description

Title: Senior Tax & Finance Specialist

Our client is a globally recognised technology and renewable energy organisation with an established international presence across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. As part of its continued growth in Singapore, the company is seeking an experienced finance and tax professional to support its regional finance operations, tax compliance, and corporate governance requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong finance professional who enjoys working in a multinational environment, managing complex tax matters, cross-border transactions, and supporting international business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Audit Management

  • Manage the full spectrum of accounting and financial reporting activities for Singapore-based entities, including operating companies and special purpose vehicles (SPVs).
  • Review financial records, business documentation, and accounting processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), Companies Act requirements, and internal governance policies.
  • Liaise with external auditors and coordinate annual audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules, supporting documentation, and management responses.

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Oversee all Singapore tax compliance obligations and ensure timely filing of statutory returns.
  • Prepare and manage Corporate Income Tax filings, Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI), Withholding Tax (WHT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), and other regulatory submissions.
  • Monitor filing deadlines and maintain strong compliance controls to minimise tax risks and ensure full adherence to IRAS requirements.
  • Support tax provisioning and reporting processes.

Transfer Pricing & Tax Risk Management

  • Maintain and enhance transfer pricing frameworks and supporting documentation in line with Singapore regulations and OECD guidelines.
  • Monitor related-party transactions and conduct periodic profit and margin reviews to ensure compliance.
  • Perform regular tax risk assessments and implement controls to identify, track, and mitigate potential risks.
  • Support internal stakeholders on tax-related matters and compliance requirements.

Tax Advisory & Regulatory Affairs

  • Act as the primary contact for tax audits, reviews, and information requests from IRAS and other relevant authorities.
  • Research and monitor developments in Singapore and international tax regulations, including evolving global tax initiatives such as Pillar Two.
  • Provide practical tax guidance and recommendations to support business decisions and operational activities.

International Tax & Cross-Border Support

  • Support international tax planning initiatives and contribute to business structure optimisation projects.
  • Assess tax implications of cross-border transactions and regional operations.
  • Collaborate closely with regional and global finance teams on international tax matters and compliance initiatives.

Treasury & Financial Operations Support

  • Coordinate with regional finance teams on cash management, intercompany funding, settlements, and treasury activities.
  • Support compliance with KYC, AML, and financial regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with banking partners and financial institutions.
  • Monitor market updates relating to foreign exchange and interest rates to support financial decision-making.

Overseas Project Finance Support

  • Provide accounting and finance support for overseas projects as required.
  • Assist with project-related financial compliance and reporting activities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Participate in short-term overseas assignments when business needs require.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare tax, financial, and management reports for local and regional stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance, tax, and compliance processes.
  • Support ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by senior management.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CA Singapore, CPA Australia, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, tax, or finance roles within multinational corporations, professional services firms, investment businesses, or trading organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore tax regulations, IRAS requirements, and local accounting standards.
  • Hands-on experience with Corporate Income Tax, GST, Withholding Tax, transfer pricing, and statutory reporting.
  • Experience managing audits and liaising with external advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
