Job Description
The Senior Telephone and Cabling Officer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of UOB (Thai)s telecommunication systems and network cabling infrastructure, ensuring reliable and efficient connectivity for all business operations.
- Lead and execute the installation, configuration, and testing of telephone systems (PABX, VoIP, etc.) and related peripheral equipment across UOB (Thai) branches and offices.
- Design, implement, and maintain structured cabling systems (copper and fiber optic) according to industry standards and UOB (Thai) specifications.
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and prompt troubleshooting of telecommunication and cabling issues to minimize downtime.
- Manage and update inventory of telecommunication equipment, cables, and related components.
- Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new technologies and infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and end-users regarding telecommunication services.
- Develop and maintain documentation for network diagrams, cabling layouts, configuration settings, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure all installations and maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecommunication systems installation, maintenance, and structured cabling.
- Proven expertise in PABX systems (e.g., Avaya, Cisco, Panasonic), VoIP technologies, and IP telephony.
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN) and network cabling standards (e.g., TIA/EIA).
- Experience with fiber optic cabling installation, termination, and testing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, BICSI RCDD or Installer) are highly desirable.
- Fluency in Thai and good command of English (both written and spoken)
