Job Summary

The Service Center Engineer is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, testing, and maintenance of railway control systems and related components in the service center.

The role also supports the Service Center Manager in daily operations, including maintaining equipment and tools, managing spare parts and inventory, and ensuring the workshop is safe, clean, and well-organized. This includes coordinating timely availability of parts, resolving non-conformances, and supporting continuous improvement of service center activities.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Service Repair & Overhaul
    • Perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and functional testing brake control systems and components.
    • Diagnose electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical faults in brake equipment.
    • Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair, and reassemble brake control units and assemblies.
    • Replace defective parts and perform adjustment and calibration activities.
    • Conduct overhaul activities according to OEM manuals, maintenance procedures, and customer requirements.
    • Perform pressure, leakage, and functional tests after repair and overhaul.
    • Ensure repaired units meet technical performance and safety standards.
    • Technical Support & Troubleshooting
    • Analyze failure modes and support root cause investigation.
    • Prepare technical findings and repair reports.
    • Support field service teams on technical escalations when required.
    • Assist engineering team in reliability improvement initiatives.
    • Support warranty and failure analysis activities.

  • Workshop & Service Center Operations
    • Maintain accurate repair and overhaul records.
    • Update service status in SAP systems.
    • Support spare parts tracking and inventory control.
    • Ensure special tools and testing equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
    • Support continuous improvement and productivity initiatives.

  • Quality, Safety & Compliance
    • Follow railway safety standards, workshop SOPs, and quality procedures.
    • Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S standards in the workshop.
    • Support internal and external quality audits.

Requirements:


Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
  • At least 3-5years of relevant experience in railway, MRT, E&M, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in LTA or MRT-related projects in Singapore is preferred and experience in installation, testing and maintenance is an advantage
  • Familiarity with LTA, SMRT or SBS Transit engineering procedures and safety requirements.

Preferred Skills And Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and railway safety procedures.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications.
  • Knowledge of testing, troubleshooting, and site coordination practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic reporting tools.
  • Strong communication skills, stakeholder coordination and good teamwork
