Job Description

Role Purpose

We are hiring for a Service Engineer in BKK!

The Service Engineer will support our Sealed Air Equipment & Automation (E&A) team to handle not only engineering works related to Sealed Air equipment, but also serve as the ambassador to influence customers in engaging their business using Sealed Air materials, spare parts, and services. The Field Service Engineer is a member of the E&A SEA Support Team for Sealed Air / Cyrovac / Liquibox state of the art Packaging Business. Working within an integrated team of Sales, Field Support, Product Support, and Application Support, the Field Service Engineer will proactively solve problems with our packaging machines, primarily in a customer environment. Specific responsibilities include troubleshooting, rebuilding, configuration, installation, commissioning, training, preventive maintenance, break down service, and overall support of existing & new equipment and applications including service documentation.

  • SealedAir / Cryovac / Liquidbox Packaging portfolio & other partner equipment as introduced from time to time.
  • The complete Food Automation Solutions portfolio

What You'll Do

  • Installation / commissioning of equipment in scope at customer's plant.
  • Attending breakdowns or machine issues and working to resolve for customer's complete satisfaction.
  • Provide maintenance to the equipment as per customer's service agreement or sales contract.
  • Actively promoting and selling service agreements and spare parts.
  • Actively scout for field service opportunities not only to promote service sales, but also to increase time utilization.
  • Conducting equipment audits with application specialist or sales Department. Ensuring the machines settings are optimal.
  • Developing a strong customer relationship to expand our existing equipment and service business.
  • Recommending the required spare parts stock, following up and identifying any gap.
  • Strict compliance with Sealed Air policy regarding personal and machine safety.
  • Preparing and distributing service reports for all service work undertaken.
  • Ensure timely reporting using Sealed Air official reporting media.
  • Maintaining and updating all records related to customer's equipment.
  • Suggest equipment improvement to the Engineering team, based on field experience.
  • Working closely in a team environment to support external and internal customers to achieve business excellence.
  • Providing remote support to customers and peers troubleshooting packaging equipment problems.
  • Reading and understanding mechanical assembly drawings, bill of materials, electrical schematics, etc.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate service call reports to ensure a complete history of service activity at customer locations.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned, including creation or proof/edit of service procedures and other documentation.
  • Travel up to 80% time.

Knowledge/Experience/Person Profile

  • Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing or service-based industry.
  • Demonstrated equipment installation experience preferably with packaging machinery
  • Demonstrated experience in servicing and troubleshooting automated systems
  • Proven communication skills - able to communicate in English, both written and verbal
  • Good understanding of packaging material applications and equipment
  • Able to work alone at customers
  • Able to travel and be flexible with working days and hours
  • Comfortable with MS Word, Excel, Power Point

Education / Training / Licenses

Education: Electronics/Mechatronics Degree or equivalent education paired with experience.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years experience in field service on a national or international level. Experience with VFFS and aseptic packaging preferred, but not required.

Specific skills: Required demonstrated success in the support of complex electric, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, paired with diagnosis of Allen Bradley PLC driven control systems.

Equipment & Machinery: Allen Bradley PLC, ability to connect PLCs for use in troubleshooting of liquid filling systems is preferred.

Computer Experience & Software: Must have working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
