About the Role
The role involves overseeing land acquisition, permitting, and community engagement to ensure successful project development and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage land acquisition (lease / purchase) in alignment with project development plans
- Oversee negotiations, contract execution, and verification of land title documents
- Manage land, contract, and land-related risk databases
- Manage and track all permits and approvals from government authorities
- Coordinate with Project Development, GIS, and relevant stakeholders
- Mitigate regulatory delay risks to ensure alignment with project timelines
- Define strategies and oversee communication with local communities and authorities
- Manage grievances and resolve conflicts within project areas
- Build and maintain positive relationships to support long-term project development
- Manage the acquisition of ROW for transmission lines, roads, and infrastructure
- Coordinate with landowners and relevant authorities
- Resolve obstacles impacting project readiness to build (RTB)
- Lead, manage, and develop Site Development Supervisors and Officers
- Collaborate with Project Development, Business Development, GIS, and Legal teams
- Report progress, risks, and recommendations to senior management
Qualifications
Relevant degree in land management, environmental science, or a related field.
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Experience in land acquisition and regulatory processes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with GIS and project management software
- Experience in community engagement and conflict resolution
