Job Description

As the Site Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the overall engineering function at site level, covering utilities, facilities, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Your role is to ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective operations that support uninterrupted production and long-term asset performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage site-wide engineering activities, covering utilities, facilities, and maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
  • Oversee facilities and infrastructure, including buildings, warehouses, offices, and support areas, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, asset performance, and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, environmental, health & safety (EHS), and local regulatory requirements across all engineering and maintenance activities.
  • Manage and optimise utilities systems, including steam, water, refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical systems, ensuring reliable supply and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor and drive energy and water efficiency initiatives, supporting sustainability and cost reduction targets.
  • Manage external contractors and service providers, ensuring safety compliance, quality of work, and performance standards.
  • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, new installations, and commissioning activities at site level.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the site engineering team through effective planning, training, and performance management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance, reliability, and asset utilisation using structured problem-solving tools.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset across the engineering function.
  • Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets, track KPIs, and report engineering performance to site and senior management.

Qualifications

You will be a technically strong, hands-on engineering leader with proven experience managing site-level engineering functions in a manufacturing environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in site engineering, utilities, and maintenance management within FMCG or food & beverage manufacturing.
  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and industrial utilities systems.
  • Proven experience leading maintenance and engineering teams in a continuous manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of food safety, EHS, TPM, energy management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Hands-on experience managing contractors and third-party service providers.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across production, QA, and operations teams.
  • Results-driven mindset with proven experience in cost control, reliability improvement, and asset optimisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement using structured problem-solving and reliability tools.
