Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Smart TV Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing front-end applications for our streaming platform on LG and Samsung Smart TVs. You will work closely with our product, design, and backend teams to deliver a top-notch user experience tailored for Smart TV environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain single-page applications (SPAs) for LG (WebOS) and Samsung (Tizen) Smart TVs using Vue.js or similar frameworks.
  • Integrate with our video streaming APIs and other backend services to provide a seamless user experience.
  • Optimize performance for TV platforms, ensuring smooth playback and efficient resource utilization.
  • Implement UX/UI designs in collaboration with the design team, adapting them for large screens and remote navigation.
  • Debug and resolve issues across various Smart TV models and versions.
  • Stay updated on platform-specific development tools, best practices, and new features for WebOS and Tizen.
  • Collaborate with QA to ensure robust testing and compatibility across different TV models.
  • Maintain technical documentation and ensure clean, modular, and maintainable code.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Vue.js or a similar front-end framework (React, Angular, etc.).
  • Experience developing single-page applications (SPAs) with modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Strong understanding of Smart TV platforms, particularly WebOS (LG) and Tizen (Samsung).
  • Knowledge of platform-specific SDKs, tools, and debugging techniques for WebOS and Tizen.
  • Familiarity with video streaming technologies and protocols (e.g., HLS, DASH).
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming (e.g., Promises, Async/Await).
  • Understanding of responsive design principles tailored to TV interfaces and remote navigation.
  • Proficiency with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DRM technologies (e.g., Widevine, PlayReady).
  • Familiarity with backend technologies or server-side rendering.
  • Knowledge of streaming analytics and performance monitoring tools.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks.
