CJ Express Group is one of Thailand's leading convenience store operators. Our Technology Innovation Lab & Decision Intelligence (TILDI) team is building an AI-powered platform for retail operations at scale across Southeast Asia. We use a lean, AI-assisted development methodology where a small team of senior professionals delivers what traditionally requires a much larger team.
The Role
- You define the architecture for a distributed platform that spans thousands of retail locations. You make the design decisions that AI cannot — scale strategy, data flow, system boundaries, and technical trade-offs. This is a systems thinking role, not a hands-on coding position.
What You Will Do
- Architect a distributed, event-driven platform designed for scale across multiple markets
- Make critical trade-off decisions: cloud vs edge, sync strategies, data consistency, multi-tenancy
- Own features end-to-end across mobile, backend, and data layers
- Write technical plans that translate business requirements into precise specs
- Build with React Native, TypeScript/Node.js, Python, event streaming, PostgreSQL, Redis
- Integrate AI/ML capabilities into production workflows
- Test on real devices in real operational environments
- Document patterns and insights that improve future development
What You Bring
- 7+ years full-stack with Go, TypeScript/Node.js and Python
- 5+ years in software architecture, with experience at scale (multi-region, distributed, offline-capable)
- Production experience at scale: shipped features used by real users
- AI-assisted development fluency: Claude Code, Copilot, or similar
- Event-driven architecture experience
- Database proficiency: PostgreSQL, Redis, SQLite
- Quality-first mindset
