Our client is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with strong experience in QA automation for data-intensive products. This role focuses on ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of analytics platforms through automation, data validation, and regression testing.
The ideal candidate should have experience testing dashboards, validating large datasets using SQL, automating UI and API tests, and working with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake. You'll work closely with engineering and data teams to ensure high-quality releases across the platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks for UI, API, and data validation testing.
- Automate functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end test scenarios.
- Validate data accuracy across dashboards, reports, APIs, and databases.
- Write SQL queries to verify business logic, calculations, aggregations, and data transformations.
- Perform database validation using Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
- Test data pipelines and ensure consistency between source systems and reporting layers.
- Collaborate with engineering and data teams to understand business requirements and develop effective test strategies.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot defects, and improve regression coverage.
- Contribute to automation best practices and continuous quality improvements.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in QA Automation or SDET roles.
- Experience testing data-intensive, analytics, BI, or dashboard-based applications.
- Strong experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
- Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience in data validation and database testing.
- Experience validating data in Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, or similar databases.
- Experience testing REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Jira.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience testing AI, analytics, FinOps, SaaS, or other data-driven platforms.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformation validation.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Experience building QA dashboards, quality metrics, or mentoring QA engineers.
