About the Role
The Software Engineer(Chinese Speaking) contributes to SCG's digital transformation by designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that enhance business operations. Based in Thailand, this role collaborates with cross-functional teams across regional markets to build scalable applications, improve system performance, and deliver innovative digital solutions. The position requires strong communication skills in both Chinese and English to support collaboration with international stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications based on business and user requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop system features, integrations, and digital solutions.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications to ensure performance, security, scalability, and reliability.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following software development best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, bugs, and system issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in code reviews, software testing, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with regional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that support SCG's digital initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in software development; strong internship or project experience may also be considered (not mandatory).
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and modern software development frameworks.
- Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git), agile methodologies, and software development life cycles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Communication proficiency in Chinese (HSK5-6++) and English.
