About This Role
We are seeking a Software Engineer specializing in data engineering to join our financial data platform team. Your primary focus will be designing and implementing automated workflows for financial reporting and maintaining our core data platform, including the General Ledger (GL) system for our lending services. You'll architect end-to-end data solutions that ensure accurate, timely financial reporting while building robust infrastructure that supports our lending operations and regulatory compliance requirements.
What Will You Do
- Design and build automated financial reporting workflows (daily, monthly, regulatory)
- Develop end-to-end data pipelines from source systems to financial reports
- Build and maintain General Ledger (GL) workflows with accurate reconciliation
- Implement financial close, P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting logic
- Ensure data quality, audit trails, and compliance in financial data workflows
- Optimize data platforms for high-volume financial transactions
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Accounting, Risk, and Compliance teams
Who We Are Looking For
- 25 years experience in data engineering, financial systems, or related roles
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (MySQL / PostgreSQL)
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or similar languages
- Solid understanding of financial concepts (GL, P&L, balance sheet, double-entry)
- Experience building scalable data pipelines and automated workflows
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both tech and finance stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience with financial reporting or GL systems
- Background in fintech, lending, banking, or financial services
- AWS experience (Lambda, Step Functions, S3, RDS)
- Knowledge of workflow orchestration, event-driven systems, or Docker
- Familiarity with accounting standards and regulatory reporting
