Dow Thailand Group is looking for Sourcing Manager, located in Map Ta Phut Rayong. You will be responsible for creating value for Dow by defining sourcing opportunities, developing and aligning sourcing strategies, leveraging supplier relationships, analyzing market conditions, and negotiating with suppliers and internal partners to optimize sustained value for Dow.

Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge of the discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. In this role, you will require in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of your discipline or functional area. You will need to understand your discipline's best practices and how they relate to others. You may need to lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements as well as serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues.

You should also be able to explain difficult or sensitive information and work to build consensus with others. It is your responsibility to analyze and resolve complex problems, examine information from multiple sources, and use judgement to evaluate established and new solutions. Your performance impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your own team and other related teams and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide sourcing support for businesses and functions by working with the stakeholders to clarify the scope of service, quality, volume, qualifications and other requirements.
  • Proactively identify business needs from stakeholders and collaboratively propose competitive solutions to drive cost saving initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of key service market.
  • Utilize business acumen and leverages best practices to drive value from the market and keep track of up-to-date opportunities coming up.
  • Assess relative risk profile of the business partner related to material/service supply
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies with stakeholders, which meets the safety requirements, utilizing unit rates, qualification and contract management.
  • Proactively manage sourcing projects, lead supplier qualification, RFI, RFQ/RFP, competitive bidding, bid evaluation and lead negotiation with suppliers.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements required to support business partners, manufacturing sites, and capital projects.
  • Manage contract review and process for approval and contract signing.
  • Effectively conduct Supplier Performance Evaluation, implement Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and collaboratively drive continuous performance improvement of supplier via KPIs (Safety, Productivity and Quality).
  • Work effectively cross-functionally and within Purchasing to manage or resolve process or supplier related issues.
  • Maintain appropriate relationships with key stakeholders, internal partners and suppliers.
  • Uses influential leadership to elevate the performance and challenge inefficiencies of the workgroup

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a reputed university preferably in Engineering, Procurement/Logistics or Business Administration.
  • Min. 5 years of work experience in Purchasing of logistics services, raw materials, or packaging / Procurement preferably in a chemical company or manufacturing company or project management/consulting company
  • Experience in negotiation, reviewing, and managing Purchasing contracts.
  • Demonstration of leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to solve complex supply, price, and logistics issues under pressure with competing priorities.
  • Fluent in English communication. (min. TOEIC score 750)
  • Ability to persuade others through effective communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.

  • Strategic Sourcing: Aligning sourcing strategies with business goals. Supplier consolidation and long-term partnership development.
  • Market Analysis: Monitoring global chemical market trends and price fluctuations. Benchmarking suppliers and forecasting demand.
  • Data Analysis & Procurement Analytics: Using data to optimize purchasing decisions. Creating dashboards and reports for spend analysis.
  • Cost & Financial Management: Budgeting, cost control, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis.
  • Negotiation: Securing favorable terms while maintaining supplier relationships. Protect the company's interests while maintaining supplier relationships
  • Communication: Clear interaction with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Building trust and collaboration with key vendors.
  • Decision-Making: Making informed choices under pressure or uncertainty.
  • Adaptability: Responding to market changes, supply disruptions, and internal shifts.
  • Project & Time Management: Managing multiple sourcing projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Contract Management: Ability to draft clear, comprehensive contracts that cover pricing, delivery terms, quality standards, penalties, and confidentiality.
