Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

  • Creating and managing production schedules:

Planners develop detailed schedules for manufacturing processes, considering factors like demand forecasts, available resources, and production capacity

  • Inventory management:

They monitor stock levels, manage material flow, and work to prevent shortages or excesses.

  • Coordinating with various teams:

Production planners collaborate with production, inventory, logistics, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.

  • Analyzing demand forecasts:

They analyze market trends and sales forecasts to anticipate future needs and adjust production plans accordingly.

  • Optimizing workflows:

Planners identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production process and implement solutions to improve productivity and reduce costs.

  • Troubleshooting production issues:

They investigate and resolve any problems that arise during the production process, such as material shortages, equipment malfunctions, or quality issues.

  • Monitoring production progress:

They track production against schedules, identify deviations, and take corrective actions as needed.

  • Communicating with stakeholders:

Planners keep relevant parties informed about production status, potential issues, and any necessary changes to the plan.

Your Profile

Qualifications And Skills To Help You Succeed

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as supply chain management, operations management, industrial engineering, or business administration is common required.
  • Experience in production planning, inventory control, or related areas is highly desirable
  • Technical Skills:
    • Production Planning Software: Familiarity with production planning software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools is crucial.
    • Inventory Management: Understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
    • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for identifying bottlenecks and developing solutions.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
    • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills are important for managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues and make decisions under pressure.
