Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Merchandise Planning: Develop and execute merchandise plans to align with sales goals and market trends. Ensure optimal product assortment, stock levels, and pricing strategies.
  • Forecasting: Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to create accurate sales forecasts and inventory plans.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations. Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Sales Performance Analysis: Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Provide actionable insights to the merchandising team.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitive activities, and customer preferences. Use this information to inform merchandise planning decisions.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and market trends to senior management.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve existing merchandising processes and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with buying, marketing, and finance teams to align merchandise planning with overall business goals and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in Commercial, Retail planning, Inventory management or related field, preferably within the retail industry.
  • Knowledge of retail math concepts such as margin, profit, sell-through and month cover. Ability to interpret and apply financial metrics to support decision-making.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think analytically and develop data-driven recommendations to improve business performance.
