The Sputter Equipment Development Engineering (SpEDE) team at Seagate designs and develops advanced sputter process equipment used in HDD media manufacturing. Our engineers work across mechanical design, vacuum systems, thermal engineering, automation, and process integration, taking ideas from concept through simulation, prototyping, testing, and deployment into production. As an intern,you'lljoin a collaborative engineering team that values strong fundamentals, curiosity, and learning by doing.You'llgain first-hand exposure to how real engineering problems are solved and how theory turns into working equipment.
As aSpEDEIntern, you will work closely with experienced mechanical, thermal, and equipment engineers, contributing to real product and equipment development. Your responsibilities include: What You Will Gain Hands-on experience with industrial and high-vacuum equipment development Practical exposure to thermal simulation and data-driven engineering validation Experience working in a professional engineering environment with mentorship Insight into how engineers contribute to advanced manufacturing equipment

Currently pursuing aBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Physicsor a related discipline Basic understanding of engineering fundamentals Exposure to 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks,COMSOL, ANSYS,Creo, NX, or similar) Introductory knowledge of heat transfer or thermal concepts is a plus
