Job Description

Sr. Director, Global Services and Payroll

Location: Bangalore, India

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Sr. Director, Global Services (GS)and Payroll.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Job Overview

The Sr. Director, GS Enablement provides strategic and operational leadership for Global Services (GS) and Payroll capabilities for the enterprise. This role is responsible for enabling scalable, compliant, and efficient service delivery by aligning technology, process, and people strategies with business priorities. This role is critical to shaping how employees interact with DePuy Synthes shared services worldwide; modernizing service delivery, improving employee and user experience, and enabling efficient, data‑driven operations. You will partner with global stakeholders to deliver best‑in‑class solutions leveraging AI innovations that enhance employee engagement while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the global strategy for supporting Payroll and Global Services (ex. HR, Finance, Procurement), ensuring alignment with business and IT priorities
  • Own and lead the AskGS (Global Services) ServiceNow platform, including roadmap, enhancements, user experience, and adoption strategy driving out of the box standardization and transform the user experience with Agentic AI including LLM chatbots and automation.
  • Drive digital transformation through automation, Agentic AI/chatbot capabilities, and selfservice solutions to improve employee experience and operational efficiency
  • Oversee end‑to‑end global payroll services delivery, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local regulations and company policies
  • Lead global, cross‑functional teams and vendors to deliver high‑quality services and meet SLAs and performance targets
  • Establish governance frameworks, controls, and audit readiness for payroll and global services platforms
  • Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and Compliance to ensure seamless integration and data flow across systems
  • Manage budgets, resource planning, and workforce strategy to support global service delivery objectives
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and scalability across global payroll and service operations
  • Build a high‑performing organization through leadership, coaching, and alignment with J&J Credo and leadership imperatives

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Human Resources, or related field required
  • MBA or Master's degree preferred

Required

Experience and Skills

  • 12-14 years of leadership experience in global payroll and/or shared services
  • Proven track record delivering global, multicountry payroll and shared services operations with strong compliance and controls.
  • Experience planning and delivering Payroll and Service Management solutions in a global organization
  • Experience with ServiceNow , including chatbot/virtual agent capabilities, and Agentic AI to deliver a transformational end user experience and capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience leading global services or HR service delivery transformation initiatives including the intranet portal re-design using ServiceNow.
  • Strong experience managing large, distributed teams and third‑party vendors
  • Deep understanding of governance, audit, and risk management frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership

Preferred

  • Experience with platforms such as ServiceNow, Moveworks, Payroll/ADP or equivalent ecosystems
  • Proven success in automation, digital transformation, and employee experience design
  • Experience in MedTech, healthcare, or other regulated industries
  • Strong understanding of data integration, analytics, and system architecture
  • Experience supporting large‑scale organizational transformations or separations

  • Language: Fluent in English
  • Travel: Up to 20% international travel
  • Certifications: ServiceNow, Payroll (e.g., CPP), Agile, or Project Management certifications preferred
