About our group:

Mechanical Development Verification Test (mDVT) will support mechanical design change validation, FA (Failure analysis) and qualify at the M1 level (Maturity Level 1) for Drive/Component level test development. We work closely with the Mechanical Design team at Normandale, USA and Asia for support test experiments and deliver summary results.

About the role - you will:

  • Support design maturity activities, new test development, failure mode analysis, and engineering evaluations
  • Work with development team to identify new designs which may have process interactions and ensure that those interactions are explored and quantified to allow for improving the time of learning and quality of learning
  • Define and oversee the mechanical evaluation, ensure best practices are followed and critical data are collected per experiment plan
  • Manage and control turnaround time to meet the target
  • Deliver experiment result with a high quality

About you:

  • BS/MS degree in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry or related subject
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to the changing needs of a fast-paced development program
  • Enthusiastic to gather new knowledge, positive attitude and team player
  • Ability to work independently and take projects with minimum supervision
  • Fluent in English communication both spoken and written

Your experience includes:

  • Statistical Software Jump (JMP), VBA is beneficial
  • Familiarity with metrology background for AFM (Atomic Force Microscopy), FE-SEM (Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope) and Candela
  • 5 years+ experience in Hard Disk Drive manufacturing, FA (Failure analysis), and Six Sigma background
