Supply Chain Manager

The position

Responsible for managing the end-to-end Supply Chain operations for AAR Component Services (Thailand) Ltd., a leading aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) company. This role oversees procurement, inventory management, logistics, warehouse operations, and supply planning to ensure seamless material availability, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective operations that support aircraft component repair and maintenance services. The Supply Chain Manager ensures alignment with aviation industry standards (CAAT, FAA, EASA) and customer delivery expectations.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Strategy & Planning:

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives and MRO operational requirements
  • Implement policies, procedures, and work instructions for supply chain, logistics, and warehouse functions
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics including on-time delivery, inventory turns, material cost reduction, freight cost optimization, and quality standards
  • Conduct demand forecasting and supply planning to support repair operations and customer commitments
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce operational costs

Procurement & Supplier Management:

  • Oversee procurement activities for aircraft parts, components, consumables, and services required for MRO operations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with approved aviation suppliers, OEMs, and distributors
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality and compliance
  • Ensure all procured materials meet aviation certification requirements and traceability standards
  • Develop local and regional supplier base to support business growth and supply chain resilience
  • Manage supplier performance evaluation and qualification processes

Inventory Management:

  • Manage inventory control systems to optimize stock levels, reduce excess inventory, and improve inventory turns
  • Implement inventory management best practices including cycle counting, stock reconciliation, and obsolescence management
  • Ensure material availability to support production schedules and customer turnaround time commitments
  • Oversee repair administration processes including tracking of customer-owned material and rotable components
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP systems with proper aviation traceability documentation
  • Drive inventory reduction initiatives while maintaining service levels

Logistics & Transportation:

  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics operations including domestic and international shipments
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers to ensure timely delivery
  • Handle customs clearance procedures for imported and exported aircraft materials and components
  • Optimize freight costs through carrier selection, route optimization, and consolidation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with dangerous goods regulations (IATA DGR) for hazardous materials shipping
  • Manage logistics documentation including airway bills, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of conformity

Warehouse Operations:

  • Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping functions
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and segregation of aircraft components per aviation quality standards
  • Implement warehouse safety protocols and 5S/lean warehouse management practices
  • Manage warehouse layout optimization and space utilization
  • Supervise warehouse personnel and coordinate training on aviation material handling procedures
  • Ensure compliance with CAAT, FAA, and EASA storage and preservation requirements

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain, logistics, and warehouse teams
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to team members
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Finance departments to support business objectives
  • Participate in management meetings and provide supply chain insights for decision-making

Compliance & Quality:

  • Ensure supply chain operations comply with aviation regulatory requirements (CAAT, FAA, EASA)
  • Maintain traceability and documentation standards for aviation materials and components
  • Support internal and external audits related to supply chain and quality management systems
  • Implement and maintain procedures aligned with AS9100 and aviation industry best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, preferably in aerospace, aviation MRO, or manufacturing industries
  • Proven experience in managing procurement, logistics, and warehouse operations
  • Strong knowledge of aviation supply chain requirements and regulatory compliance (CAAT, FAA, EASA) is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with inventory management systems, ERP systems, and supply chain software
